Community march against gender-based violence led by Bro mascots in Johannesburg

Story 03 · Community Advocacy

Bro To Her

Standing against violence. Standing with women.

Bro joined community members in Johannesburg to raise awareness around gender-based violence, rape, and injustice. This was not a marketing moment. It was a public commitment to safer communities and to the people who deserve to move without fear.

Why we showed up

Safety and mobility are connected to the realities women face every day in South African cities. Bro participated because standing against gender-based violence is not separate from building a platform people can trust. When communities march, we show up.

More than transportation

The Bro team was not there as spectators. Mascots, team members, and community partners walked alongside women, held space for the message, and added visible support to a cause that demands attention. This was participation, not promotion.

Safety starts before the trip

Bro's safety philosophy does not begin when a rider opens the app. It begins in the communities we serve. Advocacy on the streets, workshops in community halls, and presence at protests are part of how Bro builds a culture of protection.

Bro in the community

Bro is built for people in South Africa. That means engaging with the people we serve, listening to their fears, and standing visibly with them when it matters. The protest was community-led. Bro was there to support, amplify, and stand firm.

Bro exists to move people, but also to stand with them.

More than rides.

Peace Bro mascot

South Africa needed a ride platform that puts people first. So we built Bro.

We pull up on campuses, ride alongside drivers, listen to riders, and build in the open. A better way to move, made here.

Booking a trip, earning from one, or rolling with Bro SCLR: you're part of what we're building.

Built around students, riders, drivers, and communities.
